Brief History.   A Benson Chapter #130, OES, was instituted on April 27, 1920, with 26 members.  Ava Lassiter was Worthy Matron and A.T. Lassiter was Worthy Patron.  Maud E. Hester, DDGM, was the proxy for the WGP for the institution.  A charter was issued at the 1921 Grand Chapter Session.  Benson #130 did not report in 1922 and was not listed as a chapter in 1923.  Subsequently, on February 14, 1947, another chapter was instituted in Benson.  It retained the original chapter number but was renamed “Lou Parrish” in memory of the mother of an active member of the Benson Masonic Lodge.  There were 57 petitioners present and 4 not present at the institution; some of them were also members of the original Benson Chapter #130.
